University of Aarhus, Institute of Business and Technology (AU-IBT) is a danish university offering study programmes in business economics, international business languages and communication as well as management and engineering.
Aarhus University belongs to the international elite. In four prestigious ranking lists of the worlds best universities, Aarhus University is placed in the top 100. AU is also listed as number 2 of universities in scandinavian and nordic countries. AU-IBT division is located in Herning, Denmark.
Several of the programmes offered at AU-IBT are directed towards both Danish and foreign students and are taught in English.
The institution has more than 2.000 students. About one half is full-time students and the other half part-time students.
AU-IBT was founded in 1995 as a merger between Engineering School Vestjysk Teknikum and the Business School Midtjysk Handelshøjskolecenter under the name Herning Institute of Business Administration and Technology (HIBAT).
A new residence, drawn by famous Danish architect Henning Larsen, was erected at Birk Centerpark 15 in Herning.
When, by January 1 2006, HIBAT merged with University of Aarhus the name was changed to Aarhus University, Institute of Business and Technology (AU-IBT).
